Message from the

Chair, Governing Board

Mr Ian Stewart

Chair of GLI Governing Board

In this era, leadership skills within an organization are critical to the success of the private, public and non-for-profit sectors globally. It makes good sense that delivering higher educational programs to professionals to enable them to have the specialized leadership knowledge, and skills to address their organizational and community challenges, would be extremely important to the global reputations of such organizations. This global reputation will be focus of the Global Leadership Institute Strategic Plan (2022-2027) which provides the academic and professional direction for the Institute to ensure it fulfils its role to educate professionals to a higher level of leadership readiness for their respective organizations and communities.

Global Leadership Institute was developed to address a need identified for an educational leadership center based on research and the advanced technical development of professionals who have a prior foundation built on academic, multi-disciplinary studies and work experience within their various agencies. The Institute would focus on experiential pedagogy learning, case studies, applied workplace projects and interpretative theoretical perspectives in leadership methodologies. This vision would allow the leadership graduates to apply governance competencies, leadership skills and cognitive creative abilities to address the future needs of their organizations and communities.

The Institute delivers postgraduate courses supporting the operational and academic knowledge of leaders in a broad cross section of educational and professional units. The courses are designed to enlarge on a solid foundation of experience and previous educational programs by offering on-line technology-enhanced learning, and where required, pathway programs and in-house courses to ensure that these professionals achieve their personal and organizational outcomes and this may also include micro credentialing courses for their professional development in the near future.

To achieve this vision, Global Leadership Institute engages qualified academic, professionals and other key industry advisors to ensure that the programs and course content are supportive of contemporary Australian and International academic and professional standards to meet organizational and community needs. The strategic plan supports an umbrella educational center capability that can expand educational leadership opportunities globally, but initially targeting the specific sectors of counter-terrorism leadership, policing leadership, and interagency cooperation leadership.

The Institute will constantly review and assure the professionals attending its courses that the content material is leading edge and exemplary practice in leadership and administrative directions globally. The course content is identified from academic research, governmental interests, media issues and public inquiries. Course development, teaching and technology-enhanced delivery, including student assessment and other support services will be constantly evaluated to ensure the highest standards are met based on Australian Education Framework standards.

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged. It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum
